Well, hello.

I seem to have lost my word document that contains the Lucy & Taylor trilogy in its entirety so I am going to post the story here on LJ so that it can remain locked in time, forever. That way I don' t have to worry about broken links or any of that nutty stuff. Plus, YFA.net is coming down soon and I want this one story to stay connected to it somehow.

Coming soon! The Lucy & Taylor Trilogy!

I don't know what to do about my website. I don't want to continue paying for a site that I have no desire to keep. I don't want to write Hanson fan fiction anymore. I haven't for a while. Either that or I'm experiencing a really, really bad case of writer's block or something. And I don't want to jump into that same argument of 'no one reads my stories' because I know that's bullshit. They are out there, they just don't voice it. But seriously, I don't want to give $4.50 a month and $8 a year for a domain that I have no desire to continue building. But I feel that as soon as I terminate it, I'm going to get a spring of inspiration. That's how it always happens, right?

I don't know. What do you think?

Isn’t it strange?: Hanson’s impact on my world

It’s hard to believe that ten years have passed since I first became a Hanson fan. At 21-years-old I can safely say that I’ve given half of my life to this band. This is a very weighted statement. Ask any college co-ed or five-years-from-thirty adult if they’re still into the same music and bands that they enjoyed ten years ago and I’m sure that the answer will most often be a big fat no. What can be said of the bands that were popular to my demographic ten years ago? NSYNC has disbanded. Justin Timberlake is now a hot sex symbol to women (and men) everywhere and his boy band past isn’t even on the radar anymore. The Backstreet Boys faded away after a string of album flops and then resurfaced some time later, all members now pushing thirty years of age yet still boys by name. Not to mention, they are now short one member. The Spice Girls have returned with all of the same songs that they were singing a decade ago, thus allowing no one to take them seriously. And Britney Spears… well, she speaks for herself.

Somehow, Hanson has become lost in the laughable shadows of the 90’s boy bands and pop stars. To the general public, the members of Hanson haven’t aged at all. They’re still 10, or 15, or whatever age now and the only song that anyone ever remembers is the one with the catchy chorus that no one can sing. And because of this, those Hanson fans who have followed Hanson through the last ten years and have bought every album released since 1997 and who respect and appreciate the maturation of Hanson’s sound and talent, are passionately defending the band from a world of people that just don’t know any better.

Comments, although not required, would be much appreciated. :)

Just a reminder...

I've been posting my NaNo project Under Construction online now since the 1st of the month. Please read and leave your feedback! I want to hear what you have to say about the story. I've been really excited for you to read it but no one is sending me their thoughts. Except for the lovely Sarah. But I can just email her the whole story because she's my editor. :) But as long as she's the only one reading, there wouldn't be any point in posting it online if I could just email it to her. Haha. Wow. I sound like a total bitch.

I'm not. Just keep me posted on how you're liking it! I'm not doing so hot in reaching my NaNo goal so the motivation would definitely help!

A NaNoWriMo update [

I'm patiently awaiting November 1st. Not that I haven't been writing a little bit but I'm ready for uninhibited, guiltless writing. I'm hoping for a victory this year, as opposed to last where I totally and completely failed. I didn't even hit 11k, let alone half of 50. So this year I am planning on making it through this time!

Most of you should know by now that I've changed my NaNo story from Those Who Enter Here to Under Construction: the story of a work in progress. It's going to be a very different story, that's for sure. It's weird how I got the idea, actually. Unbeknownst to her, Krisin (flashingpirate) gave me the idea when she posted a link about robot wives. LOL And the article said something about the Roman mythology of Pygmalion and then BAM, I had a story in my head. So, thank you Kristin for inadvertently founding this story for me. Ha. Either way, you should go check it out! It's coming along so well right now. I'm trying not to write too much of it before November but that's proving harder than I thought. The plot and the characters have been very dynamic and I'm having trouble getting them out of my head! So, look forward to this story. It's going to be fun!

Sad [

Is it stupid that I am sad that I didn't even get a nomination in the Chaos Into Art awards? I know that while it was going on, I was in Pennsylvania, away from the internet, but still... I just went back to and I just felt sad that I wasn't a part of it. I nominated a lot of stories and authors myself because I love their writing and their work and I guess it just makes me sad that no one did the same for me. Oh well. Maybe next time.
